THE RIGHT vote FOR LAWRENCE!

Why I’m Running

When I took office in 2021, I shared with the Lawrence community that my sleeves were rolled up and ready to work from day one. I followed my convictions and calling when I decided to run for City Commission in 2021. My public administrative background and years of service allowed me to utilize my public policy knowledge and passion for civic engagement to strengthen our community from within.

Serving on the City Commission comes with great humility, a bit of scrutiny, and deep gratitude. I knew my voice would catalyze change, and I am excited to build on that progress with energy, innovation, and purpose. The last 18 months have been advantageous as well as challenging. Through it all, I’ve been encouraged by so many individuals in our community who feel seen and supported by the work I have done in such a short period.

With your vote, Lawrence elected its first African American woman to the Lawrence City Commission in 2021. In 2023 and beyond, I will continue to build policy and move the City’s Strategic Plan forward so that all in Lawrence firmly believe they can live, grow, and thrive here. Let’s keep the momentum going.

We can and will continue to do better. Let’s get to work!
